Architecture firm SHoP, engineering firm Arup, 130-134 Holdings, and Spiritos Properties have collaborated to develop New York City's first high-rise building made entirely from timber. The residential structure, has already been awarded the U.S. Tall Wood Building Prize, from a group led by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  The partnership of these groups aims to bring research and development in wood construction up to that of steel.
